Welcome to the ‘Forgotten Recipes’ series where I bring traditional dishes back to life with a modern twist. Today, we’re making the best Vegan Sourdough Naan, a soft and chewy flatbread rooted in ancient methods of fermentation!
Ingredients:
250g flour
110g water
40g sourdough starter
6g sea salt
80g vegan yoghurt @coconutcollab
A splash of olive oil
Vegan butter
Instructions:
1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
2. Let the dough rest for 1 hour, then perform a quick stretch and coil fold.
3. Place the dough back in the bowl, cover, and let it rest for 1-3 hours.
4. Divide the dough into balls, then transfer to the fridge to ferment overnight.
5. The next day, take the dough out 4 hours before baking to bring it to room temperature.
6. Stretch and bake the naans on a hot skillet or in a @gozney oven. Brush them with Vegan melted butter with parsley and you can also add garlic.
Super easy to make, and this naan is extremely soft and delicious melting in your mouth… Epic!
